Beech Autumn Term
Posted: Dec 18, 2025 by: Debbie Bagwell (dbagwell) on: Beech Class
What another busy term! With all the build up to the big day (and the big production), we have worked super hard once again.
In English, we have been using adjectives to describe pictures. We used communication aids to select words such as ‘spooky’, ‘terrifying’ and ‘freezing’. The children worked super hard on this topic, selecting relevant adjectives to describe all the pictures.
In Math’s, we have focused on length and money, as well as focusing on number throughout the term. During the length topic, we made sure there was plenty of active learning as we tried to match 1p and 2p coins around the classroom. Later in the week, we identified and exchanged a coin for a treat.
What a term for History! We discovered how the Vikings lived and what they used to protect themselves. Our classroom has a wonderful display of swords and shields which our children have designed and made using carboard and paint.
We also spent a lot of time outside during Science as we explored our natural world. We used the outdoor space around school to discover living insects, big and small. The children loved discovering a variety of minibeasts! We then explored the autumnal leaves which had fallen. We gathered a big bag of leaves so that we could trace over once they had dried.
We are so proud of the children and how much effort they have put in to this term. They all deserve a big rest over the festive period.
From everyone in Beech Class, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas break and we look forward to seeing all the children’s faces in the new year.
