In this term we have been preparing for finishing our Duke of Edinburgh award. They completed their expedition walk in the local area. They planned the course using mapping skills and worked out how long it was. They elected a group leader to be an expedition leader. It was a hot day and a kit check to ensure they had was needed. The day was a great success but was very tiring. We all enjoyed a cooling ice cream when we finished. The next day was the camping part where they had to pitch a tent and help to cook lunch outside. We did lots of team building exercises.
The sing along performance was a huge success. The two leavers were the star performers doing a double act delivering jokes between each performance (better than Ant and Dec !).
We also enjoyed a birthday treat to The Space Centre with the whole class where we enjoyed the sensory surroundings.
